Maritime ball box with Kintsugi and Baltic driftwood

The spray of the sea, roaring waves and the black abyss of the deep sea. All the elemental impressions of the sea were taken into account in the creation of this ball box. In the end, this untamed power became its undoing. The tension inside the can exploded it! The old Japanese Kintsugi technique was able to breathe new life into it. The golden lines of the Kintsugi run like lifelines across the surface! Bright, contrasting colours and the random course make this ball box a unique and unique piece. To enhance the maritime character, it is additionally crowned by hand-collected Baltic driftwood!

The driftwood is presented like a gift from Poseidon on the top and also reminds haptically of the sea. The contrast between the colours, materials and shape is a stylish eye-catcher in any environment. With every viewing, the observer is taken on an exciting voyage of discovery and each time a new story is told!

The tin and the lid were turned by hand on the potter's wheel and later cleanly reworked. All edges of the rough, earthy clay were removed and a wobble-free foot was attached to the tin. Typical maritime colours were used to match the clear form. The inside was kept in shiny polar white to be as flattering as possible for the eyes. The outside is the real highlight. Blue and golden trickles run over the black surface. The organic, slightly rough, blue glaze flows into white, high-gloss spray on the upper side. The fitted lid of the handmade box carries the self-collected Baltic driftwood.

The tin is about 16 cm high and has a diameter of 14 cm at the rim. It weighs about 600 g.
