Handmade raku scale soap dish with Inselseifen

A real handmade Raku soap dish at the sink is quite something - especially as they are reusable and do not produce (plastic) waste. This pretty accessory for your washbasin is an attractive addition to your individual interior design style. The handmade soap dish is also practically designed! The incorporated scale pattern forms elegant grooves for the drain at the lowest point of the soap dish. It also prevents the handmade soap from sticking!

Opposites attract each other! So the handmade soap dish is decorated with a fish scale pattern, the soap dish comes from the fire! It was made with the old and dangerous Raku technique. Raku is not widespread in Europe due to the necessary know-how - a pity, because it is worth the work!

The Raku technique was developed in Japan in the 16th century. Raku involves taking the ceramics, which have a temperature of over 1000 degrees Celsius, out of the kiln and placing them in beechwood chips. As soon as the yellow glowing ceramics come into contact with the shavings, they ignite them. The rapid drop in temperature causes stress cracks (cracs) and a craquelé in the vessel. The soot colours these in black and makes each piece unmistakably unique.

The square soap dish is about 7 cm wide and about 11 cm long.

To the uniqueness of the Raku the "Sassnitzer Keideschaf" fits as a contrast! We from the Keramik-Kartell have decided to use the small manufacture of the Rügenseifen to combine handmade with handmade. The handmade Rügen soap is also produced regionally and only in small quantities. For the production of the 95 g soap bar, the best Rügen healing earth and sheep's milk were used and the packaging is fully compostable!

The ingredients of the originally packed 95 g soap bar are cocos nucifera oil (coconut oil), elaeis guineensis oil (palm oil), brassica napus seed oil (rape oil), prunus amygdalus dulcis oil (almond oil), mangifera indica seed oil (mango butter), sodium hydroxide, aqua, calcium carbonate, sheep milk, perfume, coumarin.
