Product description

Straight lines and dense mist, those are the attributes that remind us of Japanese tea gardens. These features have been captured in the oranges of this handmade tea bowl, giving it a unique appearance.

The tea bowl was turned by hand on the potter's wheel and then individually finished with the classic Japanese scratching technique. On the outside of the tea bowl you can find the tea courses and gardens. These direct the eye, invite to dream and are also haptically appealing. The surprise in the mist can be found on the outside. Two imaginative fingers make you want a second cup!

Traditionally, the Japanese Chawan is a tea bowl which is used for the preparation and consumption of Matcha tea. It is a central component of Japanese tea culture. Its shape, imperfect and asymmetrical to European eyes, brings the Chawan to life. They underline its uniqueness, the individuality of each bowl. The light green colour of Matcha tea looks particularly attractive in this tea bowl.

The tea bowl is made of stoneware (high fired ceramic) and like everything in the Keramik-Kartell, it is covered with a food safe glaze. The tea bowl can be washed in the dishwasher and put in the microwave.

The filling volume is about 220 mL and its empty weight is about 170 g. The tea bowl is 9 cm wide at the opening and its height is 6 cm.
