It is time to move away from the industrial mass production and give your home the individual charm it deserves. The motto "handmade for handmade" is finally gaining ground! Our handmade and reusable soap dishes fit perfectly into this picture and also into the current situation. We have chosen the handmade soaps of the island soap factory for our soap. This small manufactory on the island of Rügen has been producing handmade soaps for many years and fits the philosophy of the ceramic cartel. Like our soap dishes, they are free of environmentally harmful substances, protect the environment and are produced regionally in Germany.
This cute soap dish is the decorative bathroom utensil and was lovingly handmade. For a stylish maritime refinement a fish scale pattern was applied to the inside. The curves of the angular soap dish follow the golden cut and give the hand-boiled island soap bar enough room to be effective - absolutely eye-catching!
To avoid waterlogging, the soap dish has a sufficiently large hole for water drainage and feet that fit the shape of the soap dish. When the small soap dish was completely dry, it was deburred and the walls were finished.
After the scalding process, the soap dish was finished with the Japanese Raku technique in a glaze band. This dangerous and elaborate technique was developed in Japan in the 16th century and has found worldwide acceptance. In the raku, the ceramics, which are hotter than 1000 degrees Celsius, are taken out of the kiln and placed in beech wood shavings. As soon as the yellow glowing ceramics come into contact with the shavings, they ignite them. The rapid drop in temperature causes stress cracks (cracs) and craquelé in the vessel. The soot colours these in black and makes each piece unmistakably unique.
The square soap dish is about 7 cm wide and about 11 cm long.
For the enchanting azure blue of the handmade soap dish we have chosen the handmade chalk angel. The 70 g soap bar of the island soap is perfectly suitable for facial care of impure skin and does not contain any fragrance, preservatives or colouring agents. It is refined with the finest healing chalk containing minerals. It is also vegan and the packaging is fully compostable - we like!
The ingredients of the originally packed 70 g soap bar are cocos nucifera oil (coconut oil), elaeis guineensis oil (palm oil), brassica napus seed oil (rape oil), prunus amygdalus dulcis oil (almond oil), mangifera indica seed oil (mango butter), sodium hydroxide, aqua, calcium carbonate.
